Cats love their owners.  They have evolved to prefer being in human company, and this has become a beautiful arrangement for humans as well.  This collaboration provides an opportunity for mutual protection of our crops from pests, regular meals, and love…always a good thing.

  • Purring
  • Kneading…which is a sign of affection between Mother cat and her kitties
  • Rolling over to bear their belly
  • Slow blinking, like a slow wink with one or both eyes…this is how
  • Grooming you with a lick or two
  • Tail wagging…especially if there is a quick rattling-like motion to it when their tail is in a curl like a Shepards’ hook shape at the end…that’s cat language for I really love you.
  • Sleeping near or on you

I am always amazed how my son’s cat, Cleo, purrs sweetly at us and turns to our dog, Huxley and hisses, then turns to me and purrs adorably again.  The nice thing about cats is you always know where you stand.
