Happy April Fool’s Day! This time of year, I hold my breath, quite literally as lines of patients come in because they are so miserable, often after thinking they have had a protracted cold.

Grass: Bermuda
Trees: most of them are out by now but Palo verde, mesquite, eucalyptus are awful!
Weeds: yellow dock, iodine bush, and wingscale
Ragweed: rabbit bush

First what is allergy? Allergy is an overreaction or hypersensitivity of the immune system to normally innocuous particles which we call allergies. Unfortunately, allergy is the default reaction of the immune system and calming and controlling it is more involved than triggering it, which is pretty easy.
